Rotten expectations

I woke up in the middle of the night to the sounds of rain falling hard on the roof and loud winds howling.

Today it feels like 26 degrees out (-5 degrees Celsius.)

The strange thing is that 2 months ago if the weather was in the low 20’s I would be delighted.

So I will go for a 10 minute walk to drop off a couple of books to the Little Free Library instead of staying indoors all day feeling sorry myself.

Little Free Library

A good walk

Everyday I try and get in a good walk.

I am so happy the weather has warmed up here in Southern Minnesota.

It’s good to see the sun

Some springtime delights include kite-flying. I ordered a beach kite. I am excited to show you it when it arrives and we take it out.

Talk to you soon!

Homemade happiness

So yesterday after work I came home ravenous as usual. Nobody feels like cooking after they get home hungry. It was such a joy to come home to what my husband made for me: tofu vegetables stir fry on a bed of Japanese noodles with a delicious peanut sauce made by my own “personal chef,” James!

Yum 😋

My job

I am a radio dj

I am working today at the radio station 🚉

You can hear my show here

My perch

I’ve been in radio since 1993. It’s a job match made in heaven.

I have the gift of gab and my degree is in music!

Cool radio dj

My Weekly Program

Each Sunday afternoon at 4:08pm Central Daylight time I do a live program on KNUJ radio from my station in Southern Minnesota.

You can also stream it on the Internet at knuj.net.

Here is last week’s show.

April 1st

I got up at 6 o’clock this morning.

I planned my day the night before.

I did my gratitude journal and my daily mindset.

I took a shower after breakfast. Now I should focus on the housework.

I have a meeting at noon at work.

It is a new month.

There is a lot to do.

But the wind is calm. That means it’s time now to play some outdoor table tennis for some morning exercise!

I like outdoors.

That is my social media. I cleaned the bird bath and I filled the bird feeder last night.

Gather ye rose buds while ye may, and carpe diem!

Life is a Journey

I am working on managing my time. The problem with overwhelm is one I have been trying to tackle for years. The problem I have is trying to get a lot of work done, and feeling stressed out with it all.

So I have been trying to take smaller steps in shorter amounts of time. It’s hard to digest how many areas of my life demand my time and attention.

Life is a journey. Take it one step at a time.

Spring break

We are having some very cold weather here. It really stresses me out. It’s very much like Winter today instead of Spring. I like to get outside, but when the weather is windy and cold I tend to feel sorry for myself. So last night after work I had my husband James take me out to a local restaurant for an Impossible burger. No supper dishes to deal with this morning and a little less stress.

Flower Power 😊

We have to have a positive mindset.

I am about to get ready for work

I just take it slowly.

I admire the flowers.

Thank goodness for flowers!

A little ping pong

One of the most therapeutic things I discovered after I lost my beloved Poodle Cole is the sport of outdoor table tennis..

Today it was rather windy but we did get 3 games in. I still miss my sweet little dog and sports helps me keep from obsessing about him.
