Peace, love and joy to you.

I’ve started watching travel videos.

I’ve reflected on apartment dwelling.

https://youtu.be/RL7BECNn-RI

I’ve been trying to be present for life in the now.

I have been weeding things out everyday to better organize my life, and feel happier.

So I’ve decided to take a little hiatus from my daily blogging.

Sorry. I just need a break.

Exercise at the gym and playing ping pong with my life partner, husband and best friend Jim makes me motivated to be a better woman.

At least it helps me get focused on creating a better home-life.

Hubby is fully retired now.

I still work, albeit part-time.

Although he is not currently employed, hubby works at home to make the place cooler (installing air-conditioning,) pitching in on chores with gardening, cooking and being my chauffer when we go out together. ā¤

He is a helpful husband.

Even though we haven’t got any vacation plans until November, every day spent at home with hubby is like a vacation for me, especially when the weather is nice.

While growing up in the big city of Toronto was over-stimulating and fun, living in outstate Minnesota has its perks as well.

Fresh air, parklands, Farmer’s markets, a big fenced-in backyard, and ample free time to enjoy it all is great!

Hubby likes to keep current on the news.

I like to keep current on the birds at the bird-feeder, the local temperature, recent amounts of rainfall, and what to eat.

Love this!

Thursday Book Review: Lose the Clutter, Lose the weight

Peter Walsh know his stuff!

Ok. So I am a pack-rat.

Where do I find the wisdom to change?

Peter Walsh!

I’ve admired his no-nonsense reasoning since the first time I saw him on TV.

But his book, “Lose the Clutter, Lose the weight,” is a good remedy for many who have too much

Here is a gem for you to consider.

Clutter comes from:

1. Bringing too much stuff into your home. šŸ” (Aquisiton)

2. Not getting rid of enough of it. (Difficulty discarding it.)

3. Allowing clutter to spread throughout your home to where it doesn’t belong. (Clutter’s core.)

So if you have ADHD like me, or just generalized anxiety disorder about your pig-sty, this book is a gem!

Of course you won’t get it all doneĀ  in 6 weeks.

But, the first step is understandingĀ  what clutter is.

The first way to get started is to get educated, not overwhelmed.

Peace and love on Ringo’s birthday.

82 today. Glad he kicked the smokes and he’s a vegetarian too!

We can all do our best to make changes for a better life!

A Tantalizing World

Fresh delicious Apple Pie

Everywhere we look, people look for happiness.

They seek it online and in person. They are full of dissatisfaction.

They can’t get very much done because they are distracted.

Life is meant to be fun.

Life is meant to be enjoyed.

Here is a story I never heard of before, but it is the origin of the word tantalize.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tantalus

If you ever feel like you are missing out on all the fun, you are not alone.

Most people feel that way and that’s why many seek temptations and escape from the drudge of work.

Nevertheless, if you want to be a better person, the key is to plan your work and work your plan. The joys are hidden behind and in between your efforts in the daily service of others.

Yet, you need to also take time for yourself and live with balance and gratitude.

Worried about everything

Growing up in a big city was very stressful.

City girl in a scary world!

My mother put a good fright in us.

We had to be wary of everyone and everything.

There were people who tried to abduct me in stairwells and city parks.

Happily, I always had someone near me to protect little me.

When I moved to the country I was still very frightened.

I would always lock my doors and I would never talk to strangers.

If I look back I think I did everything right.

In this day and age you can never be too careful.

As I’ve often heard it said here in the Midwest, trust in God but lock your car!

My job

I am a radio dj

I am working today at the radio station šŸš‰

You can hear my show here

My perch

I’ve been in radio since 1993. It’s a job match made in heaven.

I have the gift of gab and my degree is in music!

Cool radio dj

April 1st

I got up at 6 o’clock this morning.

I planned my day the night before.

I did my gratitude journal and my daily mindset.

I took a shower after breakfast. Now I should focus on the housework.

I have a meeting at noon at work.

It is a new month.

There is a lot to do.

But the wind is calm. That means it’s time now to play some outdoor table tennis for some morning exercise!

I like outdoors.

That is my social media. I cleaned the bird bath and I filled the bird feeder last night.

Gather ye rose buds while ye may, and carpe diem!

Life is a Journey

I am working on managing my time. The problem with overwhelm is one I have been trying to tackle for years. The problem I have is trying to get a lot of work done, and feeling stressed out with it all.

So I have been trying to take smaller steps in shorter amounts of time. It’s hard to digest how many areas of my life demand my time and attention.

Life is a journey. Take it one step at a time.

Need or needy?

There is a vast difference between needs and wants. But, nowadays, the line is very blurred.

Do you need to buy that or go there? Or do you just want to?

You have 7 basic needs to survive. Love, books, TV, music, coffee, Wi-Fi, and batteries not included.

The seven things you need to live are oxygen, food, shelter, sunlight, water, sleep and elimination.

However, there is a lot more stuff you don’t need.

The media has become very influencial when they convince you that more stuff will make you happier.

In most cases, more stuff creates chaos.

It becomes like a monster that invades and takes over your psyche.

No matter the cause, excess wants are unnecessary and will never stop asking to be fed until you decide to live a simpler, contented life you can control.

Rigors of Living

Plan your work and work your plan!

They often say the best laid plans of mice and men go awry.

Sometimes it’s better not to have plans, and do what you know you should do, and do what you say you will do.

Part of growing up is becoming disciplined. To discipline yourself is the hardest thing to do.

Did you know you can become a life coach without any degree? To become a life coach you don’t even have to join their organisation and get on their mailing list either.

Why do so many people hire life coaches?

I think people like to have a life coach, although it costs them a lot of money. The fact is people are unable to kick their own butts, they prefer somebody else whip them in line.

The reality is you probably do not need anyone to tell you what to do. You know what to do. You may not want to do it. However, the ultimate decision is up to you whether or not you do it.

The truth is revealed in the movie The Wizard of Oz. You have the power within you and you’ve always had it.

One of the nice things about the digital Revolution, is that we can set up our schedule on our smartphone, and use the timer and the calendar, and it’s all paper free.

When it comes to time management, you have to be the one to manage yourself in time. Go for it! You can do it! I believe in you!

You don’t need me as your life coach, you need yourself to be on your side, to stand up for your truth, and your goals and dreams!

Surrounded by winners

You’ve heard it said that you become the equivalent of those you hang around with. I am surrounded by winners. I cannot say how it all happened but I can say part of it has to do with my close association with my husband who is an MD, his relations and my relations including my fabulously beautiful, extremely talented sister who sings better opera than Sarah Brightman, in my humble opinion, and my super talented brother who works for a Fortune 500 company and is very active and athletic. Also, not to boast, being a radio announcer where I live in the heartland, I encounter many Superstar people.

I called them Superstars because they have their heads on straight. They are Straight Shooters. They tell it like it is. They are real people and not posers.

Being surrounded by winners helps me to be happy because when I get all nervous and flustered, with my ADHD, I get the advice I need to calm down and move ahead with maturity and soundness of mind.
