Yesterday I went to the Minnesota Music Hall of Fame where this year’s inductees attended an open house.

Molly B was awarded a place in the Minnesota Music Hall of Fame this year, among others.

I met Molly B yesterday. She told me about her experience performing in a Clint Eastwood film.

Molly performs often with her husband Ted Lange.

I perform with my husband as well in our music duo Molly and Sonny Boy.

Elephant ears

This pastry is called an elephant ear

Moving to the Midwest I never heard of many different kinds of pastries, in particular, this one.

This is a crispy, crunchy delight bought from our local bakery, the Backerai on Minnesota Street.

I will have it with some delicious French roast coffee.

The day is bleak and rainy, so it’s time for a little food fun.

Right now I’m fixated on going to Boston and seeing all the sights.

I found some fabulous Boston travel videos, in particular, from Expedia.

Here is the one about Boston from Expedia:

I know I probably shouldn’t watch TV and eat and drink, but who doesn’t, right?

Dwarf Lilac trees

Old dwarf lilac treess trimmed

Today we had our dwarf lilacs trees trimmed and more.

The men came early this morning to fix our overgrown trees.

They worked quickly and efficiently.

A truck filled with branches from our little trees

I am thankful for the local landscaping company, Rivercreek Nursery, for their hard teamwork.

Due to the cold weather this Spring, they are 3 weeks behind. Let’s hope they can catch-up on their projects.

The sun is out and today is a beautiful day! Let’s hope it that better days are on the way!🌞

Tooth Resorption (with current update)

See the dentist

Update: On May 9, 2022

I found out I do NOT have tooth resorption

The endodontist found a crack inside the tooth that was causing bone loss. And now the remedy is a replacement tooth, a dental implant, so I am relieved it is NOT tooth resorption.

‐—‐–‐The following is my old post——-

I felt a compelling urge to go to the dentist and I’m really glad I did.

It turns out that I have a problem that I never, ever heard of before.

It’s called tooth resorption.

The cause of this may have happened when I was young, but now I’m dealing with the fallout.

The dentist discovered the dark spot inside my right eye tooth this morning after examining an x-ray.

He told me all we have to do now is to monitor it and to recall it once in a while to see what’s going on inside.

So in three months i’m going back to have it checked out.

I went to get a teeth-cleaning this morning, and also to check out a problem with a new crown.

After x-rays, they found that gum tissue was the problem surrounding the new crown and prescribed a special mouthwash.

They also found a strange cast on an x-ray depicting a case of tooth resorption on one tooth. A dark shadow in the tooth that wasn’t there before, likely caused by past facial trauma, bruxism or cheap tooth whitening.

I can only hope it will go away on its own and if it doesn’t, I may have to get an implant, so the infection doesn’t spread to the other teeth.

Happier now 😊

Studying Commitment

Bookish

I have a lot of books. Many times I scoop them up at library book sales, or just aquire them at book stalls.

Later on I discover them in the house, sometimes many years after I brought them home.

Sometimes the books are found not so neatly on a bookshelf, and sometimes I find them in a bag or a box stacked on a table or the floor.

I’ve started studying a book I found in a bag underneath a desk. It’s called “Commit to win,” by Heidi Reeder, PhD.

Get committed

It’s about how to harness the four elements of commitment to reach your goals.

She elaborates on the 4 areas of commitment that I never heard of.

They are: treasures, troubles, contributions and choices. Basically the 4 ingredients that go into any commitment.

It’s food for thought if you plan on making a commitment and plan on succeeding in fulfilling it.

I have 3 areas I am trying to get committed to doing.

I. I need to drop some excess fat; 35 lbs. exactly.

2. I need to get rid of a lot of old junk in my living space, so as to upgrade my style and feel happier at home. Yes, I have a lot of stuff.

3. Lastly, I need to get my music business organized.

That means finding, labeling, and organizing eveything from books to instruments, to recording units, and sound equipment not just for insurance purposes either.

There are also the intangibles of my band Molly and Sonny Boy that need attention like websites and digital photos, contacts and financial files

I would like to get all 3 commitments fulfilled in the next 5 months. However, there is a difference between deciding to do something and actually getting started. I will keep you posted!

Art of Craig Groe

Carnegie Art Center

Last night I visited an Andrew Carnegie building for an art exhibit.

Art show

I went with my hubby to check out an old friend’s Art show.

It had been years since I saw Craig. He is a multi-media artist, and also a musician. It was fun catching up.

Pink moon night

There will be a pink moon tonight, all full and bright.

So I thought I might show you this beautiful prose by the author of Charlotte’s Web.

Enjoy!
